Aircraft mechanic for 4 years (got bored), backpacked South America and Asia for 12 months (learnt a bit, lost a few brain cells), went back to uni and did computer science (terrible idea but got me a job). 4 years developing forest inventory and data management systems (got married and went back to South America to lose a few more brain cells) and the next 18 years developing forest growth simulators, bushfire simulators and a real-time bushfire radar tracker. More recently in cycling safety developing a bicycle mounted passing distance measuring device and discrete camera mounts for observational studies.
